PageMaps - PMU Class 1 Giveaway!

Hey everyone!  Remember not too long ago I posted about a new adventure my dear and BRILLIANT friend Becky Fleck created called PageMaps U?  If you haven't had a chance to check out the freebie mini class at PageMaps I suggest you run (not walk) your fingers right over and click HERE to see what it's all about.  This little nugget is just a small taste of the sketch classes being offered at PageMaps U and I am proud to be one of the teachers in this first four-week session! Here's a little peek at some of what's included in that class:

Registration begins October 1st for Class 1 but before it starts, you have a chance to win a free spot right here on my blog!  Just post a comment about why you use PageMaps sketches and we'll give away the spot on September 30th. Super easy! And even if you don't win this freebie spot, this is a class you won't want to miss!

Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine - FALL issue is HERE!

Happy Fall everyone!  I can't think of a better way to celebrate the arrival of Fall (my favorite season) than with the brand new Fall issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine

I received my copy in the mail the other day and it is just beautiful!  The artwork is just gorgeous and there are lots of great tips, tricks, and articles shared throughout.  You can check it out online by downloading it HERE for free.  That's right folks, absolutely FREE!  If you're like me and you want a paper copy to hold in your hot little hands (there's nothing quite like it, don't you agree?) then hop on over to the SCT website and subscribe HERE.  The best part is the paper copy of the magazine is free as well - all you pay is shipping and handling.

I'll be back in the next few days to share some of my creations from this issue so be sure to check back soon!  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

PageMaps U - FREE Trial Class

Calling all sketch fans!  If you love sketches as much as I do then do I have news for you!  My fabulous friend Becky Fleck, creator of PageMaps, has launched a brand new education program called PageMaps U.  Becky will be offering both scrapbooking and cardmaking classes that will offer exclusive sketches, easy to follow how to instructions, coordinating cutting files, and so much more!

Registration for the first PageMaps U scrapbooking class will begin October 1st.  However, Becky wanted to give you a little sneak peek at what PageMaps U classes will offer with a totally FREE mini class.  The mini class is just a glimpse as to what the full classes will offer.  You can find this free mini class right here

Yours truly contributed a layout and video for the first class that begins on October 1st.  I had so much fun working with Becky's sketch and exclusive cutting files.  I hope you take a moment on this gorgeous fall afternoon to check out PageMaps U and see what it's all about.

PageMaps - September Reveal + a New website!

Hey sketch fans, have you been over to PageMaps today? It's the first of the month and we all know what that means—new sketches (and card sketches, too)! But this month there's even more. A fresh, new look and loads of wonderful changes have taken place behind the scenes over the past month, and all of them were revealed today. From "click to enlarge" artwork to the new PageMaps U education program, I invite you to stop by PageMaps and check them out!

This month I created both a layout and a card.  Here's a look at the layout sketch I was given and the layout that I created ...

I took advantage of the blank space in the lower right corner below the photos to create a little super hero scene using fantastic products from the Amy Locurto Superhero collection for Pebbles.  These papers and embellishments are just TOO cute and perfect for my "super" little guy, Brandon.  I used die cut stars using the Potpourri Die Set by Becky Fleck for Spellbinders.  They had just the right whimsical feel for this fun layout.

I loved the idea of a hidden journaling tag as sometimes there is just not enough room on my layout for journaling or it doesn't quite work with the design.  I popped up the orange patterned paper with dimensional adhesive leaving room for the tag to easily slide in and out.

I also created a card for this month's reveal.  Here's a look at the card sketch I was given and the card I created ...

I loved the little rows of embellishments on the sketch and decided to recreate that look using several rows of hanging tags cut using the Charmed I'm Sure Die Set by Becky Fleck for Spellbinders.  I cut several different tags from the I Heart Summer collection 6x6 Paper Pad by Simple Stories.  I tied each row with baker's twine and added my sentiment to my heart tags using Basic Grey Micro Monogram Stickers in white and colored with a red Copic marker.
